MJ Quiambao Reyes, an expert in international trade and a supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte who is known to be an all out crusader in Twitter slams the critics who are saying that the president is becoming a lapdog of China.

All out war

She started by saying that getting into war against another country is not just about firing guns and killing the enemy. She said that there is such a thing as TRADE WAR, and sometimes, the effect of it is even greater than that of a physical war.

Trade War

A someone who is into global trade, we can assume that she knows what she is saying. According to her, back in 2011 to 2015, whenever she is in China, her friends would warn her that when somebody asks her what her nationality is, she should just answer that she is Indonesian or Singaporean. They said that Chinese people do not have good graces for Filipino people.

During that time, it was very difficult to export products from the Philippine to China. They even banned the export of bananas, which resulted to tons of bananas rotting on our ports. China also released a travel ban against the Philippines and not to mention the restrictions that our fishermen are experiencing because of the rift on the shoals.

Ease in export

When President Duterte sat in office, this was when the trade relations between China and the Philippines eased. China started bananas from our country, in fact, China is now one of the biggest importers of bananas from the Philippines. They are also importing il from coconut, pineapple, etc. From our country.

The travel ban is lifted which helped the tourism in the Philippines, and some of our fishermen are already able to fish.

Understand first

As a plea, she calls out to the critics to please understand the situation first before assuming that we are becoming the lapdogs of China.

It’s not that we are giving our selves and everything that we are, it’s just that if we use our minds, then we’ll know how to strategize. Strengthen our forces, intensify our allies.

She said the that President Duterte knows this, and this is what he is doing.

REPEAT:

I know so because I am into global trade).
