The youth is the hope and future of the nation. That’s an undeniable fact.
So regardless of their circumstances, every Filipino child should have access to quality education, according to President Rodrigo Duterte. He said this during a groundbreaking of two school facilities in Bulacan.
“Education is indeed the most valuable gift that we can leave behind to the succeeding generations,” he said.
“This is why I have been firm in my stand that no Filipino youth should ever be denied access to high quality education, whatever circumstances they may be in,” Duterte added.
Both the groundbreaking of Gen. Gregorio del Pilar National High School and the unveiling of the proposed Pandi National High School in Bulacan were commended by the president. He said that the school buildings will be instrumental in improving the children’s lives and developing the nation’s future leaders.
“I am glad to join you today as we break ground on two secondary school facilities that will soon rise here in the province of Bulacan,” he said.
“Once completed, these buildings will serve as a testament to our commitment to invest in the potential of our youth. These structures will promote their well-being, nurture their dreams, and become a breeding ground for future leaders of our country,” Duterte added.

Proposed Salary Increase for Public School Teachers

President Duterte also took the chance to announce the planned salary increase for public school teachers this year. He even encouraged the teachers’ representatives to attend the meeting at Malacañang to finalize the agreement.
Duterte added that he already discussed the proposed salary increase with Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno and guaranteed that the government has sufficient funds for it.

NYU alumna details how LP's grand plan will backfire them down: "Aquino name will do more harm than good"

Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino | VP Leni Robredo | Sen. Antonio Trillanes  If the grand plan of the Yellows is to turn to the name of the Aquinos as a means to save the Liberal Party (LP) in a last ditch effort then it will surely backfire. This is the sentiment of social media influencer Krizette Laureta Chu when she detailed how the LP is on a losing end as more and more of its prominent members successively fail to rake in new supporters, contrary to what they hoped to achieve. With Vice President Leni Robredo as their Opposition Leader, Chu opines that the constant mocking of the Vice President’s competence (or lack thereof) has led to a “wakeup call” for the Yellow political party to find a different means (or different person) to bring into the scene. When the Yellow political party turned to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, he had resorted to creating a fuss about threats on his life by rounding up more security forces around him which, unfortunately, bac...

The Duterte Effect – What Does It Really Mean?

Photo from Flying Ketchup RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE — the gun-toting, tough-talking, Mayor of Davao City was nothing like anyone Imperial Manila nor the rest of the Philippines had ever seen before. In 2016, his bravado and foul-mouthed rhetoric actually seemed refreshing for millions of Filipinos. His accomplishments, as well as the countless urban legends that surrounded the man, seemed like exactly the change the country needed, and that ‘it’ was finally coming. Under Duterte’s leadership, Davaoeños watched as their beloved city transformed – purged of crime, of insurgents, and of drugs. During his term, discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, and religious affiliation was outlawed in the city. Other ordinances on health and safety were passed. Urban development became a priority, and the city saw economic growth, as well as development in education and community life. All this happened under the watchful eye of the beloved ‘mayor,’ who patrolled the streets a...
