Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV arrived in the country on Tuesday morning to face the conspiracy to commit sedition charge filed against him and several others, according to Nimfa Ravelo's report on Dobol B sa News TV.

Trillanes, who landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, is expected to post the P10,000 bail needed for his temporary liberty before the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court at 11 a.m.
He was met by his staff and lawyer Rey Robles.
Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors charged Trillanes and 10 others for allegedly conspiring to link President Rodrigo Duterte and his family to the illegal drug trade "with no other purpose but to inflict an act of hate or revenge" against them.

A vocal critic of the Duterte administration, Trillanes has described the case "absurd." He accused the administration of weaponizing the law against the political opposition.
Conspiracy to commit sedition is a less grave offense than sedition and inciting to sedition, which are punishable by longer prison terms. —KBK, GMA News

Bongbong slams Leni’s ‘brazenness’

Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., defeated candidate for vice president, hit the camp of Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo on Wednesday for claiming victory in his poll protest against her even as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) is yet to resolve the matter. “We are appalled once more by the brazenness of Mrs. Robredo and her Liberal Party in claiming victory in my still ongoing election protest just as the tribunal announced that no action has been taken by the court on the Caguioa report,” Marcos said in a statement. The former senator was referring to the report of Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa on the recount of votes that was submitted to the tribunal for deliberation. Photo from The Manila Times Supreme Court spokesman Brian Keith Hosaka announced on Tuesday that the manual recount in 5,415 voting precincts of three test provinces was already finished. Marcos, who lost the race to Robredo in the 2016 elections, has identif...
